Biography

Angelo Lo Foreze (born March 27, 1920 , Milan ) is an Italian opera singer (tenor).

In 1938 - 1941 and 1943 - 1948 . studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan in the class of Aureliano Pertile . In 1948 he made his debut as a baritone in the part of Silvio in R. Leoncavallo’s opera Pagliacci .

In 1952, on the advice of Emilio Girardini, moved to the tenor register and made his debut in the part of Manrico in the J. Verdi opera Troubadour at the Nuovo Theater in Milan.

Performed more than 80 parts. He sang in many theaters in Europe, America, Africa, as well as Japan. He collaborated with such conductors as Herbert von Karajan , Antonio Votto , Gianandrea Guazzeni , Bruno Bartoletti . He sang with such great singers as Renata Tebaldi , Juliet Simionato , Renata Scotto , Fyodor Barbieri , Leila Genger , Ettore Bastianini and others.

He is currently engaged in teaching activities and, despite his advanced age, sings in concerts, performing arias from operas, in particular, at the age of 92, he brilliantly performed Manrico’s cabaletta from the opera Troubadour .
