Biography
CHEN LI, is a Chinese classical violinist. Recognized as a child prodigy, she enrolled at Attached School of Wuhan Conservatory of Music, trained by renowned Prof. Xiong Zhiqun, Zhu Yaoxi, and Wang Zhenshan. In 1998 Chen Li was accepted to the Central Conservatory of Music and received violin class with Prof. Liu Peiyan, with excellent professional courses (professional excellence awards) won the People's Scholarship, and "Viacom Sumner – Lei Shidong Scholarship".
Chen Li was admitted to the China Philharmonic Orchestra in 2001. With the CPO, toured to the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Austria, Italy and other more than 30 countries and regions. She was invited by the Chinese Youth Orchestra to participating the World Youth Classical Festival opening gala as the principle violinist in 2005. Recently she’s invited as the guest principle by the Harbin Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated as soloist with several local orchestras. Her recitals in Beijing and Wuhan were high acclaimed by media and audience as well.
As a chamber musician, she’s the founder of the Philharmonic Quartet which is the famous ensemble in China. Her duet concert with renowned Guitarist Wang Zhen was recognized as one of the best concert of its style in recent years.
Chen Li is actively involving in the cause of music education; she applied as the violin tutor of Attached School to China Conservatory of Music in 2011. She was invited to hold a violin lecture at National Centre for the Performing Arts, and invited as the judges to the Manhattan Symphony Orchestra Beijing Tour Educational Project, Singapore Chinese Music Festival, China Youth Arts Festival, and Peking University. She prized Best Teacher in Singapore Chinese Music Festival honored with her student crowned Golden Award.
