Biography
Chi Bulag, World-famous Morin Huur (horse-headed stringed instrument) Master Chi Bulag is National-level Grade-A Performer. He serves as Vice President of Inner Mongolia National Song and Dance Theater, Member of Inner Mongolia Provincial CPPCC Committee, Founder and President of Chi Bulag Horqin Yema Morin Khuur Orchestra, Honorary Chairman of National Morin Khuur Center of Mongolia, Honorary President of Japanese International Exchange Morin Khuur Association, the Fifth Reincarnated Living Buddha of Muruin Sum in Horqin Grassland and Graduate Tutor of School of Music of Mongolian Buddhist University. He is not only an outstanding performer, educator, composer and social activist, but also an expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council.
In 1986, he founded the first-ever Morin Khuur band in the world—Chi Bulag Yema Morin Khuur Band. In 2005, he held the world]s first-ever Morin Huur concert in Vienna Musikverein (world-class music gallery) and was also the first Chinese performer presenting on the stage of Vienna Musikverein. In 2008, he led 208 Morin Huur performers on behalf of the people of all ethnic groups living in Inner Mongolia to resound Ten Thousand Steeds Gallop at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games .
He visits and performs many countries and regions across Asia, Europe, America and Africa, and holds more than 1,000 recitals around the world currently. He has successively created nearly 100 classical Morin Huur songs. Among them, Ten Thousand Steeds Gallop, Two Horses of Genghis Khan, Song Dedicated to Mother, Su He’s White Horse, The Rising Sun, Prairie · Heavenly Foal and other works already become golden melodies, which are highly praised by worldwide people.
