Biography
Mr. Huang Yi is a young Chinese conductor and music assistant to world renowned Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa.
Mr. Huang was admitted into the Faculty of Conducting of China’s Central Conservatory of Music (CCM) with excellent academic scores in 2006, under the instruction of Professor Yang Li.
From 2007 on, Mr. Huang has been instructed by noted conductor Professor Yu Feng.
During his study in the Central Conservatory of Music, Mr. Huang had ranked first in the faculty’s academic examinations for many times, thanks to his outstanding performance in conducting. He was handpicked by the world renowned Japanese conductor Ozawa as his music assistant in 2009. Mr. Huang was also one of the top 10 winners of the CCM Scholarship for Excellence in Academic Performance in 2010, and proudly became a recommended student for the Postgraduate Program of the Conservatory with an authorized waiver of the Entrance Exam.
2011–Be admitted to Berlin Academy of Music in first class for master study majored in conducting.
2009–Conducting the Seiji Ozawa Ongaku-Juku at the Kyoto Music Hall, Japan; 2010–Conducting the New Year’s Concert and the music-season performances of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra; 2010–Conducting the special symphony concert of the China Juvenile Symphony Orchestra at the International Youth Music Festival; 2010–Conducting the special symphony concert of the Kunming Symphony Orchestra; 2010–Conducting the special concert at the Opening Ceremony of the Third Festival of the Chamber Music of the Central Conservatory of Music given by the Chamber Orchestra of CCM Teachers.
2010–Conducting the special concert at the closure of the Third Festival of the Chamber Music of the Central Conservatory of Music given by the China Juvenile Symphony Orchestra .
2010–Conducting the Chopin Piano Concerto Concert performed by the China Juvenile Symphony Orchestra as part of a series of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Conservatory;2010–Conducting the special concert of the Nie’er Symphony Orchestra;2010–Conducting the special concert jointly given by the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Choral Society of the Faculty of Music Education of the CCM in Macao;2011–Conducting the special concert of The China Broadcasting - Film Symphony Orchestra.
2011–Scheduled to conduct the Korea Pusan Philharmonic Orchestra for special concerts during the music season.
In his capacity as Ozawa’s music assistant, Mr. Huang has for many times cooperated with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the China Opera and Dance Drama Theater, and the China Youth Symphony Orchestra over the past few years.
