Ni Hongjin Ni Hongjin

 Ni Hongjin was born in shanghai in1935.She was admitted into Shanghai Institute of Music in1947and apprenticed to Yang Jiaren,Zhou Guangren,Bolong Stan,Fan Jiseng.She graduated from the Piano Department in undergraduate of Moscow Conservatoire. She was noly one who received a systematical education from piano school of The Soviet Union until1980s.She was not only a educationist and pianist,but also an excellent composer.With her multiple characteristic style of composition, Her piano works reflected all the development history of piano creation of China.Melody from the Zhuang country suite was composed in late1970s, After the Cultural Revolution, Chinese composers were dedicated to revive musical creation.This work consists of four kinds of short piece for music, namely, A boat from Afar; A singing festival; Cradlesong; Drinking song. Through this suite, composer made an attempt at combining traditional folk tunes of Zhuang country with modern western musical elements.This paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces Ni Hongjin’s educational background and musical composing; The second chapter analyses the characteristics of material of Melody from the Zhuang country suite; The third chapter is an analysis of composition technique of Melody from the Zhuang country suite; The fourth chapter quests the representation of folk elements in Melody from the Zhuang country suite; The fifth is a playing analysis of Melody from the Zhuang country suite and sums up its characteristics of aesthetic.From this work,we may veritably feel the full-bodied folk customs of Zhuang country,at the same time,it develops national culture of music, reveals the unique national style and vocabulary.It displays its individuation of characteristic and artic value among the multitude of Zhuang country’s folk music.
