Biography
Yu Mingyue, viola. Was born in Beijing in 2000. In 2004, she began to study the violin with Professor Wei Zhao. In 2012, she studied the viola with Professor Shaowu Wang at the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School. Now, Mingyue is a violist pursing her Bachelor of music degree at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Professor Paul Coletti.
Mingyue has won prizes in major competition.Third prize in Junior group of “VILLA DE LLANES”International Viola Competition in Spain in 2013. (No first prize).Second prize of the third alumni Art Festival held by the Central Conservatory of music Middle School in 2015.Second prize of the 22nd International Johannes Brahms Competition in 2015. (No first prize).First prize of the “Anton•Rubinstein” International Viola Competition in 2019.
Mingyue has won scholarships for many times during her schooling.In 2015-2016, she won the Central Conservatory of music “Wahaha Chamber Orchestra scholarship”.In 2015 and 2016, she won “Fu Chengxian” Memorial Scholarship.She has been the viola principal of the Central Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra and followed the orchestra to three European countries (Holland, Belgium and Germany) for a tour.She was also the viola principal of the “Four Season” Chamber Orchestra and cooperated with the “Four Season” Chamber Orchestra and performed in the school.
Mingyue has also participated in many music festivals.In 2016-2019, she has participated in the “Bravo” International Music Academy in San Diego and won the first prize in the BIMA International Competition in 2017.In 2014-2017, she attended the “Morningside Music Bridge” and performed at Gala concert.In 2019, she participated in “Seiji Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy”, and her orchestra was conducted by Ozawa when performed in Tokyo.
