Gao Weijie: Piano Small Concerto-Piano Solo and Stringed Orchestra

Introduction

The composition comes from the cooperation with the famous Chaozhou Zheng performer Mr. Yang Xiuming, the rich nostalgia revelt from his talk and performance not only deeply touched the composer, but also sparked off his interest in Chaozhou music. Therefore, when the Japanese International Music Publishing House invited the composer to create a piano small concerto for the youth and kids, he subconsciously integrated some of the Chaozhou music flavor into his works.

The works consists of two movements, the first is “the nostalgia”, expressing a slightly sad feeling as the main key; the second “childlike happiness” is full of vigor, and is the memory of the childhood.
