Overview
Introduction
The Concertino Bianco in C major is a piano concertino composed by Georgs Pelēcis. Composed in 1984, this composition's title most likely refers to the fact that the music is built on the notes available on the white keys of the piano -- C major throughout, sans modulations.
Parts/Movements
- Con intenerimento
- Con venerazione
- Con anima
The beginning is a very simple and engaging texture with light piano figures above sustained string chords. This is followed by several jolly folk-like melodies. The second movement is a lovely slow ballad with slightly more advanced harmonies than the first movement. The third movement opens with a lively, energetic theme with angular rhythms and scale runs. The brief coda has a little bit of fun with traditional cadences.
