Introduction
The Poème-nocturne, Op 61 (1911–12), is, along with the Poèmes tragique and satanique, a longer work than most in this genre. It shares much of the idiom of Prometheus. The Poème-nocturne evokes the evanescent images and indistinct sounds of a dream, or the state between waking and sleep.
